Drone shows are happening all across the US on the Fourth of July. If you are wondering, are there drone shows near me, attending one of these events would be a good time for family and friends. Ocean Beach, California is going forward with a drone show this Fourth of July. The show will feature at least 200 drones and will be replacing fireworks this year. The city has concerns about fireworks and has found the drone shows to be a safer alternative. The drones will be featured with some new lighting technology at the Ocean Beach Municipal Pier. The city didn’t want to risk shooting fireworks from the pier anymore.
Park City, Utah is also putting on a show, July Fourth, even though the costs are estimated at three times the budget for fireworks. However, the drones pose no fire danger, making the decision to switch to drones justified. Other cities are following suit for the same reason, the West is so dry, that many cities have decided fireworks are not worth the risk.
Instead, Cities like, Park City, have budgeted money for drone light shows. Even though the cost has been estimated at sixty thousand dollars, officials determined the costs more than worth it to avoid the risks associated with fireworks. The city is taking bids to determine who will be putting on the event. The displays are a great way to showcase pride for American Flag, showcase maps, and other designs that can morph into whatever the promoter is capable of producing.
Fireworks are loud and obnoxious in apartment complexes, not to mention a nuisance to animals. The area around me has a lot of horses, so fireworks are prohibited. Of course they still are used by people, but the city does not host any fireworks shows. Drone shows are perfect alternatives for areas like these horse communities, or other communities with similar concerns.
The City of Highland Park in Illinois is considering hosting a drone show. The community is looking to come together after the tragic events that happened last year. The budget for the show would be upwards of $50k, city administrators want something special and healing for the community.
Hopefully, the city can put something special together, drone shows are a great way to get people of all ages together. Music, lights, and drones create something that audiences are able to take home with them. The shows are coordinated to maximize the effects and should only improve with time.
In South Florida, various drone shows will be held on July 4th. Peacock Grove park in Miami will be giving out some free swag to the first 500 guests to the drone show, as they look to bring awareness to the dangers of plastic pollution. Lake Worth Beach is considering a drone show instead of fireworks to protect native habitat around the mangrove lagoon.
It is not July 4th, but on July 7th, and a few other select dates, the Los Angeles Dodgers are putting on a drone show for fans at Dodgers stadium. That night they will be hosting the crosstown Los Angeles Angels and fans will be treated to a show after the game.
Another show to look for is The Thunder Over Louisville Drone Show will be taking place April 22nd, at the Kentucky Derby. The show will feature American made drones that are so bright, the show will be able to be seen from as much as 7 miles away. The ambience will be enhanced because the reflection off of the water will create an even with even more visual experience. The drones are able to synchronize the lights to the sounds for the ultimate experience.
